Graduating to Pierced Ears & Big Bows

Jemma had her ears pierced this past Thursday. I had my ears pierced when I was a baby, so I thought I would keep the tradition alive and I think it's cute. We found a doctor that does it and even numbs the babies/child's ears with EMLA cream, so that they don't feel it as much. Jemma and I had some quality bonding time in the waiting room for an hour waiting for the EMLA cream to work it's magic. She did really well and only cried a little bit after each piercing and came out of the doctors with a smile on her face!

Jemma's also teething this week. I noticed this past weekend that she wasn't acting quite as bubbly and smiley as she usually is. She started sucking in her bottom lip, fussing more than usual, clinging to me, and biting everything. My Mommy instinct told me something was up and she was probably teething. Sure enough on Thursday both bottom middle teeth were peeping out of her gums. By Friday the left tooth had almost broken completely out! I'm just so thankful that it has happened so fast. I had heard about babies showing signs of teething and it taking weeks or even months before teeth started to appear.

Daddy showed up just in time for the piercing. And yes Jemma has graduated to bigger bows! I started making my own bows for her instead of buying them. I saw a bow almost exactly like the one she's wearing and it was $8.00!
