James

So I haven't meant to do so many personal posts recently, I just feel like sharing. I've been reading my way through James, very, very slowly. I get maybe a paragraph a day in The Message. I feel a bit slapped around by conviction, but it's been great. I find the words sticking in my mind throughout the day and breathing wisdom into my life and situations. Today knocked me off my feet a bit and I might just stay here for a few days. James 4:7-10 (The Message):

"So let God work his will in you. Yell a loud no to the Devil and watch him scamper. Say a quiet yes to God and he'll be there in no time. Quit dabbling in sin. Purify your inner life. Quit playing the field. Hit bottom, and cry your eyes out. The fun and games are over. Get serious, real serious. Get down on your knees before the Master; it's the only way you'll get on your feet."

Wow! I can look back at specific places in my life where reading this passage would have knocked me out. Even today, I feel knocked over. God's word is so powerful.
