Just a Few Projects

I realized we needed to spiff up our master bedroom when we put more effort, time, and money into Jemma's room. I found a beautiful headboard & dresser at Roundtop, I go every year to the flea market/antique show each year with my mom. I'm in love with the curves and wood detailing.

This is a before picture of the headboard. Clay has begun sanding the left side of it. I have a white linen I'm going to reupholster it with. We aren't really using a tutorial for this, just figuring it out as we go, so wish me luck! The dresser was painted with the yellow and gold, and had red accents with ornate gold flowers on it. Not my style, so I white washed it and made it look weathered. I didn't take a before picture, so I'll post a picture when I'm completely done with it.

I'm starting to get into sewing clothes for Jemma. I bought some patterns on etsy and made Jemma a pleated corduroy skirt and red peacoat. I went to Hancocks yesterday because they were having a 50% off sale on most of the cotton prints, so I took my patterns and have planned some of her spring/summer wardrobe pieces. Each bag below represents a clothing item. I'm so excited! I'll definitely post pics.

I made a crayon/paper holder for Jemma for Christmas last night. I just need more toys in my "bag of tricks" for when we're at a restaurant or out and about. She's begun to color and just loves it! I found a tutorial at Just Another Hangup. I put a button closure on Jemma's instead of the handles, I added the pink metallic ric rac around the edges, and I appliqued her name on it. It's so girly and fun! I was thinking about selling these. Would you buy one?

Clay's also building, yes I said building, a kitchenette for Jemma. It's going to be awesome! I'll post pics after Christmas!

Mine looks a little messed up around the crayons, because I have the toddler size crayons in it, instead of the regular kind. I could always make the crayon slips bigger next time.

Jemma's having a lazy day hanging around our house. It's alright with me cause I'm expending enough energy for both of us!
